My name is Kim Guccione and I am a 1st Degree Black Belt and the Program Director at the Personal Best Karate in Norton. I started studying martial arts when I was a teenager because I knew I didn’t know how to protect myself and wanted that training. When I joined, I immediately loved it – I knew it was “my thing”. The incremental successes and improvements I saw in myself helped my confidence and self-esteem. Having these attributes on my side led me to making better decisions every day... that is what I want for the children whom I teach.
As the lead teacher for the 4 - 6 year olds in Norton, I am honored to teach the children knowing the parents trust me in that role. I love the smiles and enthusiasm as my students learn the age-appropriate Personal Best curriculum, and can see how their skills at Personal Best help them feel better about themselves as well. Each child has their own unique personality and skills- my love for teaching centers on developing a personal connection with each child and learning what brings out the best in them. I smile knowing that each student's journey at Personal Best will encompass personal growth and character development skills that will set them up for success in all areas of their life.
To me, there is no greater honor than being able to make a difference in the life of a child. Choosing who mentors your child is a critically important decision. My martial arts training, Master's Degree in Teaching Elementary Education and the excellent training I've received at Personal Best have all prepared me for this important role.
