Sharon Ma – Celebrating their 17th year of teaching students of all ages, Personal Best Karate promoted fifty eight students to the ranks of first, second and third degree Black Belt. Over 900 people packed the auditorium for an evening of choreographed martial arts performances. All of the candidates took turns displaying the skills they have polished over the past four plus years of training.

It was a great night to celebrate the dedication of our graduates. Receiving a Black Belt in Personal Best Karate is a worthy accomplishment that takes a steady commitment over time. “The graduates are physically stronger, more flexible and have greater endurance than they have ever had in their life. They are mentally more focused and have taken a positive step forward in learning how to protect themselves and their loved ones should a physical confrontation occur,” said Christopher Rappold, 2 time World Champion and founder of Personal Best Karate.

As part of its ongoing community campaign each graduating class selects one community service project. This class chose to participate in a kick – a – thon to raise money for the newly formed Personal Best Charity. The graduating class successfully raised $5,000 which will go in part to feed families in need for Thanksgiving.

“It seems that more and more families are recognizing the value of training together”, said Rappold. “Many of our graduates are sharing the training at personal Best along side other family members. Moms and Dads, sons and daughters are finding that this is a program the whole family can experience and enjoy together.”

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the first graduate of the newly formed Personal Best Academy to Mr. Mark Brouwer. Mr. Brouwer successfully completed the entire curriculum needed to enable him to operate a Personal Best Karate School. The School which will be run by Mr. Brouwer is set to open in Needham in October of this year.

Personal Best Karate has four locations in the area and a fifth set to open in Needham in the fall. They teach a unique curriculum that helps people become physically and mentally stronger while learning life saving personal protection skills.
